Locate Your Pet

Fort Smith Animal Haven (FSAH) takes in dozens of pets daily and encourages anyone missing a pet to give us a call at (479)-551-2221 or visit our shelter in person as viewing pets in person is the most reliable way to locate your pet.

Holding Period

Pets brought in as lost or stray have a holding period to help their owners find them. Holding periods for lost pets vary by age, species, and whether the pet has identification.

All animals picked up by Fort Smith Animal Services or found stray will have a 5 day stray hold to allow owners time to locate their pet. After which time, the animal will be spayed or neutered, receive a rabies vaccine and made available for adoption.
Mom dogs and pups, mom cats and kittens will be available for foster upon intake and health check.
Owner surrender pups and kittens will be available for foster upon intake and health check.
All animals 4 months of age or older will be spayed or neutered and receive a rabies vaccine before adoption. Animals under the age of 4 months can be fostered and will be scheduled with the Foster Coordinator for spay or neuter surgery and rabies vaccine nearing time of 4 months of age.
